I am going to share how to stop eating too much chocolate even if you feel helplessly drawn to the sweet treat. The problem many chocolate lovers have is that they cannot stop eating it once they start and they end up eating too much and sabotaging their healthy eating and weight. If you can spare just a couple of minutes I will share some researched and proven ways to stop overeating chocolate.
How to Stop Eating Too Much Chocolate
1. Use peppermint to knock out the craving. A study at Jesuit University in West Virginia showed that participants could block their food cravings by sniffing peppermint throughout the day. It seems the strong scent diverts your minds focus on the treat.
2. Don’t make it easy to eat. This is pretty commonsense but often overlooked, don’t keep chocolate in your house, car or office. The simple truth is you can’t eat it if it isn’t there.
3. A 15 minute walk will do the trick. 15 minutes is the length of time researchers found it take people to walk in order for them to “forget” about their craving.
4. Avoid getting too hungry. When you are overly hungry your mind will focus on chocolate and you will feel like you need a fix. Avoid hunger by eating small frequent meals throughout the day and carry with you healthy low-cal snacks like veggies or a low-fat cheese stick.
5. Clear your palate. Sometime a chocolate craving can come on after you finish a meal, you just want something a little sweet. To disrupt this clear the taste of food out of your mouth by drinking a glass of water or brushing your teeth.
You can cure your craving and learn how to stop eating too much chocolate, just use a little patience and these tips and you will be eating less in no time without missing it.
